The safety of the children should be paramount.
Nanny Duties:
- Be motivated and happy to organise age appropriate activities/outings and arrange play dates.
- Engage with the children and encourage play, reading, arts and craft.
- Help/supervise children with homework
- Prepare and cook fresh, healthy, nourishing meals and snacks when on duty
- Encourage table manners
- Keep children’s play area /toys clean and tidy
- Ensure children’s bedrooms and cupboards are tidy
- Attend to children’s laundry and ironing
- Children related errands
- School runs if needed
- Liaise with the parents regarding any appointments concerning the child/children.
- If requested by the parents, keep a journal of the children’s day.
Please Note. All nannies should have a scheduled hours of work.

Live – in Nannies
Hiring a nanny to live in your home has many advantages, it offers more flexibility than a daily nanny as they are available to start work early in the morning and finish later in the day.
On average the days and hours of work for a live-in nanny are Monday to Friday 10-12 hours per day and is often expected to offer 2 nights babysitting each week.
As the working hours during the week are dependent on the family requirements, any additional babysitting would be paid for as extra, we recommend you discuss a babysitting rate with the nanny, before she/he joins a family
Live in nannies require their own bedroom and bathroom, some nannies would be happy to share a bathroom if a separate one was not available and a TV with access to internet would be expected in nannies bedroom.

Live – Out Nannies
Live out nannies also known as “daily” nannies travel to and from a family home each day Monday – Friday and usually work 10 – 12 hours per day.
Most daily nannies are happy to babysit if prior notice is given, this would be considered overtime and extra payment would be expected, a babysitting rate would be discussed and agreed by both parties before employment commencement.
